Lolita Headpiece: ok, here's a tutorial that I made yesterday for a lolita headpiece :)

  • Step 1: Cut out your oval-like pieces of fabric (make sure there's two of them!!)

  • Step 2: Begin to lay out your ribbon that will show in a criss-cross pattern on the top of your headpiece. Lay down the first layer as shown.

  • Step 3: Essentially repeat step two, laying down the pieces of ribbon, except going to other way (as shown)

  • Step 4: Pin down the ribbon pieces to the fabric, careful not to move them in the process.

  • Step 5: Take the second piece of fabric, and pin down lace to the edges. NOTE: make sure that the lace is facing inwards, as shown.

  • Step 6: Lay the two pieces of fabric, one on top of the other. Make sure that the right sides are together.

  • Step 7: Sew the two pieces of fabric together. Be careful not to hit any of the pins along the way--we don't want any broken needles!!Make sure to leave an opening (in other words, don't sew the entire way around. Leave a hole, this will be used to flip the headpiece right side out).

  • Step 8: Flip the headpiece right side out through the hole left open during step 7.Carefully remove all the pins in the process--otherwise, it might really hurt!!

  • Step 9: Sew up the hole, tucking the fabric edges on the inside.

  • Step 10: You should end up with something looking remotely like this...Now, cut two lengths of ribbon and sew to the sides of the headpiece on the back...

...And you're done!!! Wear your new headpiece with pride :)
